The whole microwave popcorn idea has always seemed a little unhealthy to me because of all the oils and fats -- so I was delighted when I came across this great idea for making my own microwave popcorn and guess what.... it works!!
1/4 c. unpopped popcorn kernels
1 brown paper lunch bag
Tape
Seasonings like melted butter, kosher salt, seasoning salt, Creole or Cajun seasoning, bacon salt, or Garlic Bread Seasoning
Place unpopped popcorn in the brown paper lunch bag.
Fold the top of the bag over twice, tape it shut, and gently push the air out of the bag.
Pop for 2 1/2-3 minutes or until there are 1-2 seconds between pops.
Remove the bag from the microwave and shake gently before carefully opening the bag.
Season as desired.

Perfect Homemade Popcorn
Recipe via Brown Eyed Baker
Yield: 3 quarts
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes
tablespoons oil
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup popping corn
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1. In a large, heavy-bottomed saucepan, add the oil, salt and popping corn. Turn the heat to medium, cover the pot with a lid left slightly ajar, and shake once or twice.
2. The corn kernels will begin to pop within a minute or two. Once the popping slows to an almost stop, remove the pot from the heat.
3. Transfer the popcorn to a large serving bowl and drizzle with melted butter, tossing well to combine. Add more butter or salt, if preferred.
