Johnny Cake

2 cups cornmeal
2 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
2 TBSP baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 eggs
2 cups milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil

Sift dry ingredients
Add eggs, milk and oil
Beat with fork until smooth
Bake @ 425* in greased 9 x 13  pan 1/2 hour
Split and spread with butter and syrup if desired
